What documents do you need to collect for CY passport after the adoption of new legal rules?

As for now and until the present day, this is the official list of the required documents for those who wish to apply for CY passport by years of their legal residence in the Republic of Cyprus, known as “by naturalization” and for those who are highly –skilled professionals:


  1. Completed form M127

  2. Original Birth Certificate.

  3. Original Certificate of Good Conduct from the Republic of Cyprus (valid for 6 months).

  4. Copy of valid residence permit.

  5. Marriage Certificate/Civil Partnership Certificate (where applicable).

  6. Copy of valid passport or other travel document.

  7. Copies of passport pages with entry and exit stamps.

  8. Detailed record of arrivals and departures in Cyprus.

  9. Copies of two consecutive advertisements in a daily newspaper, announcing the submission of the naturalization application.

  10. Certificate of successful completion of Greek language examination at A2 or B1 level, depending on the case ( For those who are not highly skilled professionals but apply with the years of residence, level B1 is applicable).

  11. Certificate of success with a grade equal to or greater than 60% in an examination assessing knowledge of Basic Elements of Contemporary Politics and Social Reality of the Republic.

  12. Documentary evidence regarding the residence, such as property title, sale agreement document, rental agreement document, and payment receipts or rental agreement document and payment receipts for rent and utility bills.

  13. Documentary evidence regarding financial resources, such as salary certificate, employment contract, social security contributions, income tax, bank statements, or any other evidence that can prove the applicant's income.

  14. Two recent passport-sized photographs, certified by the Mayor.

  15. Copy of payment receipt for fees (500 euros).
